Holy Cross Donates $5,000 Toward Tornado Relief Efforts

Edward Augustus, director of government and community relations at Holy Cross, presents a $5,000 check to an American Red Cross volunteer during a Worcester Tornadoes baseball game at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field on the College’s campus. The funds will go to the “Worcester Cares” relief fundraising effort to help victims of tornadoes that devastated parts of Western and Central Massachusetts earlier in the month.

UMass Medical School Bestows Honorary Degree on Bob Wright ’65

Michael Collins ’77, chancellor of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, presents honorary degrees to Autism Speaks founders Bob Wright ’65, and his wife Suzanne, at the university’s 38th commencement ceremonies.  “That all may know of our appreciation for your dedication to autism advocacy and the remarkable achievements of Autism Speaks, the University of Massachusetts Worcester confers upon you the Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa,” their honorary degree citation read in part.
