Students Raise $23,860 for AIDS Research in Dance Marathon

Students participating in a 12-hour dance marathon from 9 p.m. Jan. 28 to 9 a.m. Jan. 29 in the Hogan Campus Center Ballroom raised $23,860.08 for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. The number, which is expected to grow since donations are still coming in, exceeded organizers’ expectations. Participants were required to raise a minimum of $100, with the goal for the marathon set at $10,000. “We had a total of 138 dancers staying the full 12 hours of the dance marathon plus another 60 or so entering and exiting throughout the night,” says Caroline Cataldo ’12, one of the event organizers.
