Fr. McFarland Presents Bill Gibbons With Game Ball

Rev. Michael C. McFarland, S.J., president, presents Bill Gibbons with a game ball after the head coach of women’s basketball earned his 500th career victory with a 61-50 win over New Hampshire on Dec. 3. The winning streak continued on Dec. 7 as the team beat Northeastern 70-68.

Stanley Cup Makes Stop at Holy Cross

Men’s Ice Hockey Raises $800 for Cancer Charity

The second annual “Pink the Rink” benefit game, sponsored by the Holy Cross men’s ice hockey team, brought in more than $800 for Pink Revolution, a local charity that supports women suffering from breast cancer at UMass Memorial Hospital. Pink the Rink: Men’s Hockey Raises Over $8,000 for Breast Cancer

The Holy Cross men’s hockey team defeated Bentley, 4-0, in Atlantic Hockey action in front of a crowd of 2,009 at the Hart Center on Feb. 13 on “Pink The Rink” night. Holy Cross wore a special edition pink jersey to show its support for breast cancer awareness. The jerseys were auctioned off throughout the game as they raised $8,070 with all the proceeds going to the Levine Cancer Center in Worcester.

It was also winter homecoming at Holy Cross as freshman goalie Thomas Tysowsky was awarded the MVP trophy by Tom Mahon ‘85 from the Holy Cross Club of Worcester.

Teddy Bear Toss During Basketball Game Raises Funds for Haitian Relief
