Rev. Michael C. McFarland, S.J., 31st president of the College of the Holy Cross, receives an honorary degree during the 166th Commencement Exercises held on Fitton Field. Rev. Philip Boroughs, the College’s current president, reads his citation, while Frank Vellaccio, senior vice president, places the doctoral hood over Fr. McFarland.
