Gateways Orientation Leaders Welcome the Class of 2019

Holy Cross Gateways Orientation Leaders celebrate after welcoming members of the class of 2019 for three separate sessions of the College’s award-winning summer orientation program. Gateways is a one and a half day program designed to provide new students and their parents with the opportunity to become better acquainted with the many aspects of Holy Cross. The goal of the program is to help students make a successful transition into the College.

Worcester Bravehearts Take on Wachusett Dirt Dawgs on Opening Day

The Worcester Bravehearts return to Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field for their home opener against the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. This is the second year of the partnership between Holy Cross, the city of Worcester, the Futures League, and local business owner John W.S. Creedon Jr. in their collective efforts to keep the tradition of baseball alive within the Worcester community. In their inaugural year, the Bravehearts won the FCBL Championships series dethroning the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks.

Alumni Club of Boston Welcomes Newest Members of the Holy Cross Community

New classmates and happy members of the class of 2018 gather at a send-off event hosted by the Holy Cross Club of Greater Boston. Nineteen students and their families were at the reception and were welcomed by alumni club leaders. According to Kristyn Dyer, director of alumni relations, 18 alumni clubs are hosting send-off events for the newest members of the Holy Cross community across the country this summer. “For this Boston gathering, the Alumni Office provided each family with a Holy Cross cookbook, and each student a Holy Cross cellphone ID wallet,” says Dyer.

Two Holy Cross Students Serve as American Cancer Society Research Fellows

Seniors Lauren Testa, of Winchester, Mass., and Timothy Murphy, of Niantic, Conn., spent the summer serving as American Cancer Society research fellows. Testa, a psychology major and chemistry minor with a premed concentration, worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Murphy, a biology major with concentrations in premed and biological psychology, worked at Massachusetts General Hospital. They are pictured at a reception for the fellows.
