Student Wins Annual Shark Tank Competition for Custom Handcrafted Executive Products

Crowned the winner of the fifth annual Shark Tank competition, Paul Wiley ’20 holds a check for $12,000 won with the pitch for his company PW Industries, which specializes in custom handcrafted executive products and jewelry for the promotional product industry.

In addition to the monetary prize given to the winner of the competition, sponsored by the Ciocca Office of Entrepreneurial Studies and the Prebusiness Program, Wiley will also be paired with an alumni mentor and given year-long memberships to Worcester Clean Tech Incubator, Venture Forum and Worcester Chamber of Commerce.

‘I LOVE HC’ Valentine’s Day Fundraising Challenge Breaks Records

Sean Teebagy ’17, shows off why he loves Holy Cross during the ‘I LOVE HC’ fundraising challenge on Feb. 14. The 24-hour challenge engaged 6,111 donors who contributed a total of $1,848,787, shattering the previous donor record set at a liberal arts college. Some of the most impressive statistics of the day include: 61 percent of all donations came from the classes of the 1990s through the 2010s; 49.4 percent of seniors made donations, making the Class of 2017 the top-giving class; and 100 percent of senior-athletes participated in the challenge.
