Students Raise Thousands in ‘Benching for Breast Cancer’ Competition

December 10th, 2009 by

The Strength and Conditioning program at the College held their second annual Benching for Breast Cancer event on Dec. 10.  Nearly 350 student athletes attended to raise approximately $2,000. This is how it worked: student athletes gathered a team of four, each person paid a fee of $10 plus any other donations they could solicit, and then they challenged themselves to see how much they could lift—oh yeah—all while wearing a costume. Madison Horl ’12, organizer of the event, hopes to open the event to the entire campus next year.
